There actually was a game show by that name in 1974, hosted by Jack Narz, who was also hosting the syndicated “Concentration” at the time (both shows came from Goodson-Todman Productions). “Now You See It” was an attempt to cash in on the Word Search craze that was sweeping the country at the time. The show lasted about a year, and had two short runs on CBS.

A basketball bouncing off a head makes a “DOOF” sound? Not “BONK”?

@JPuzzleWhiz I know, hence the pun. I saw both NYSI and Concentration back in the 70’s. NYSL’s theme song was called *Chump Change", written and composed by Quincy Jones.

At the time, Concentration was my all-time favorite game show. I just loved solving those rebus puzzles. Usually, I could do it with very little of the puzzle showing. In the fifth season of the Jack Narz version, one guy actually won the game on the very first match. The only pieces showing were, in one square, part of a heart, the other square showed part of a tent; the answer was “To your heart’s content”. On the Alex Trebek version, one fellow solved “Night Court” on the first match (this was early in that series’ run).

And I have owned more than half of the Milton Bradley editions of the game. I currently own copies of editions 2 ( for the second time), 3 (also for the second time), 4, 9, 12, 15, 16, and 25. I used to own editions 6, 8, 10, 11, 14, 18 and 23. There was no official 13th edition, as MB thought the number unlucky.

In the Southern Hemisphere “Bonk” sounds more like “Doof”
