Actually, he wasn’t with them the whole time. Perhaps Old Man Emdin shape-shifted to Ocker, tied Benny to the ceiling, snuck downstairs, turned off the growling sound system, and then greeted Ginger. That would explain why he had Emdin’s magic magnet.
