Okay. What kind of name is “Ocker”?

@templo SUD
True Aussies are referred to as “Ockers” … typically those of us who speak with broad Aussie accents, like drinking beer, hanging around at BBQs in our T-shirts, shorts and thongs (aka. flip-flops in Britain).
It’s pretty much the caricature of the True Aussie.

Aaaannnnd, plugging the name Ocker Stevens into Google and Wikipedi gives us the Jimmy Banks reference. Doin’ the cartoon old-school, Jason? :)

Ocker Stevens was a character created by Ginger Meggs creator James C Bancks back in the 30’s .
Here’s a little treat for some long-term readers: http://www.jasonchatfield.com/Ocker.JPG

Yeah, Paul Hogan had a stock “Ocker” character, with the suncream on the nose and carrying around a cooler!
