This was the very first daily strip that appeared back in 1993:

Congratulations, Ginger Meggs!
Jason, is there a book that requires you to make Ginger Meggs still be served broccoli quiche by his mother?
What did his mother serve him that he didn’t like before the strip went daily?
Former US President, George H. W. Bush didn’t like broccoli. He is the father of George W. Bush.
When I was growing up, there were times we were served food which I didn’t like but that’s all we had to eat.
I didn’t like blackeyed peas; but, I ate them without complaining. Besides, they are not peas; they are beans.

OK, so Blondie isn’t the best strip either, but I have to admire their consistency and stamina. Some things deserve to go on and on just because they go on and on.
(Peanuts, however, is another story. Stop with the zombie reruns and give someone else a shot at the space.)

Congratulations Jason and Ginge - great teamwork, may there be many more milestones and achievements. Thanks also for the opportunity to collect another ‘Meggsie No. 1’.
Looks like the ‘new error’ in the first strip instead heralded in a new and successful era. May there be more heralding of another era in the near future.
Don’t worry Ginge, as you head towards mid-teenage your tastes in food will change.
EH? What’s that? Am I missing something? Oh, so that’s why you still hate broccholi after all this time.
