Let it be known that a co-owner of the Kentucky Derby winner is Ogden Mills “Dinny” Phipps. Wonder if he’s got a friend named Ottewill?

ohhh . . . (cue twilight zone music).

Art is going for more drama. P3 is quite dramatic.

Dramatic, yes; but Devore would get more power from the “ping” of an aluminum bat.

If those are rally caps, shouldn’t the bills of the cap be pointing up? That’s part of that whole goofy look when you’ve put your hat on inside out.

    Unless it’s a wooden bat.

When do you see four teenage boys in one place without a ball cap on backwards? Maybe Gil doesn’t allow it. Devore could be another Wade Boggs at the plate. Boggs never used an aluminum bat in high school, because it would mess up his swing for pro ball. His dad had him hook sliding at age 5, and made him a LH batter for that one step closer to first base. Like Bryce Harper, who got a GED so he could play in a wooden-bat juco league, he just knew he was going to play pro ball.

I’ve never liked the idea of aluminum bats in baseball. The ball travels faster when struck and has been known to be deadly in such cases.

Will it take all week for this one play?
