    Sounds like Slim wants to end it all. He’ll mess that up too by throwing himself behind the train.

    Once you admit you have a problem, then the healing process can begin.

    Frank King I am sure would be pleased to know his comic strip creation still exists. However he would also be perplexed that the strip has been reduced to just “talking” heads. Each panel barely has room for text and art. Back in King’s day Slim would be seen “thinking” aloud in some space with an elaborate drawn background. To save paper and ink the publishers and editors determined comic strips would be the ones effected. Granted many modern gag strips have minimal art anyway so it doesn’t effect them. However older and classic strips especially adventure strips with continuity have suffered. I’ve come to rely on reprint books and old comic websites like ilovecomix.com

    How the @#%&! does a 64-year-old man not know the difference between a dishwasher and a clothes washer?!

    @George Strum

    For the current day space allocated, Jim at times produces an amazingly rich and detailed tableau.

    In my opinion, anyway..

    In early and middle GA the characters had individual personalities that grew and developed over time. The current GA simply strings together gags. Slim, as an example, can be any levels of stupid as long as he fits the need of the gag (not the gag fitting the character)
