I doubt that MLK’s dream had anything to do with politicians and other talking heads using race to accomplish their ideology.

Oh, there’s just no such thing as voter suppression. It’s only the Koch Brothers and ALEC fighting back against that widespread undetected voter fraud.
    -
Republicans/Fox “news” viewers believe in widespread undetected voter suppression with the same fervor that they believe that Saddam had a nucular weapons program.
    -
And they believe in Job Creators.
    -
And that Obama was born in Kenya and faked his Hawaiian birth certificate and the birth announcements in two newspapers.
    -
And they believe that America has the greatest health care system in the world and needs no improvements at all.
    -
But they don’t believe in evolution.

I’m getting tired of the portrayal of requiring voter ID as voter suppression…. What are you afraid of? Only 1 vote/person?

The Republicans have a dream also, that no one but a rich white man (No women allowed) will ever be President again no matter what they have to do to insure that.

Here we go again. For the umpteenth time, it’s not just “Voter ID”.

    @PAJ

Haven’t you been reading comments and researching claims made therein? Voter ID is not the objective of the republican efforts. It is voter suppression. The most recent one that I know of is North Carolina. Pretty much hits on all of the republican’s top points. It is a superb example of the voter ID not being just ID but approved ID. A citizen’s food stamp ID card, a governmentally issued ID card is not sufficient to prove identity. A piece of mail. a federal offense to posses if you are not the addressee, a federal offense for the postal employee to deliver to anyone other than the addressee does not count. A birth certificate is required to gain access into the approved voter club, something that does not have any identifying information other than typewritten letters. And many citizens, mostly rural and poor (not a typical republican demographic, hmmm….) do not have birth certificates because they were born at home and not in a hospital. So without a birth certificate, sorry there poor rural probably Demcoratic voter, you can’t vote anymore. No matter how long you have lived in the same house in which you were born.
Every challenge to a Voter ID (suppression) law that has come before a court has had the republicans admit that they have no proof there is a problem, they just know there is a problem. But they have proof that voter fraud is prevalent in absentee voting. However since absentee voting tends to favor the republicans they won’t touch absentee voting.
And since you are clueless and evidently too lazy to research this yourself, here are a few links, read and learn, if you dare
    http://www.npr.org/blogs/itsallpolitics/2013/08/02/208059824/could-north-carolina-lead-a-red-state-resurgence
    http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2013/08/13/211537833/n-c-gop-gov-pat-mccrory-signs-voter-id-bill

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/govbeat/wp/2013/09/08/27-other-things-the-north-carolina-voting-law-changes/
I know you can read, “The new law will suppress the votes of rural poor Democrats to the advantage of the republicans” and come away saying that the new report said that the new law would suppress undocumented residents from voting. Completely ignoring the report and claim something not even addressed in the report, but at least you have no excuse now to “not know” the truth. Whether you are willing to learn and understand the truth and reality is another question.

Sooooo….. you can’t legitimately argue the truth so you resort to your tried and true republican tactic? I provided dialogue, I provided links to substantiating information, you are only able to spew insults and a dismissive attitude. What does that say about you? Trust me, we know what type of “person” you are.

The true Voter suppressor is Obama using the IRS against tea party fundraising. The dems need to cheat ! so they oppose voter ID which suppresses no votes.

    .
Seriously? And I’ll bet you believe everything FOX News tells you. Even if there were an IRS scandal (and there isn’t), it would have zip / diddly / nada to do with voter suppression.

No one has ever been able to explain to me why requiring a photo ID is racist. Is it racist to ask for a photo ID if you are giving a merchant a check? Or to check into a hospital? Or to claim a lottery win? Dems don’t want photo IDs because it means they cannot bus voters from one district to the other to vote multiple times!
