A piece of string walked into a bar and asked for a cold glass of beer.
The bartender refused to serve the string saying; “Sorry we don’t serve strings here.” (The “sorry” was obviously not meant.) The string, disappointed, left.
Hoping for better luck with a different bartender the string returned to the bar the next day during a different shift, but, alas, the bartender on shift was no different than the first. The string was again refused service.
“Well,” thought the string as it stood outside the bar on the next day, “I’ll just have to try something else if I’m going to get served here.”
It thought a while and at last it came up with an idea.
It tied itself in a knot, and rubbed both its ends on the sidewalk until they separated, and entered the bar.
The bartender, the same one who refused the string service the first time, looked at it and said “Aren’t you that piece of string I kicked out of here two days ago?”
The string replied “No, I’m afraid not. I’ll have a beer please.”

Stop encouraging people to let their cats play with string. If you must at least only do it when you are monitoring them.

String is only fun when someone is pulling it around…or unless it is in a ball…

Aye that’s for true and for sure….they prefer the string to be a loose string on your favorite sweater….and while you’d be at work…..that’ll give them the entire day to unravel that beautiful sweater into the largest ball of string you’ve seen of late.

Sooty’ favourite toy is "The Thing On A String. An odd furry thing on one end and a plastic rod at the other which I’m supposed to wave around so she can chase after it. Morning, noon and night. She loves the darn thing.

Of all the cats I owned, they all loved a pen. They FETCHED it. Of course, sometimes the pen broke.

Not that piece of string? Not that cat, either.

I thought cats only played with string when their owner was swinging the string back and forth!
