"Frog Applause reminds one of learning to read, in the sense that each word in the captions seems 'surprising' and new. Teresa's writing takes one back to that fresh state of mind (typical of, but of course not limited to, childhood) in which the brain, free of preconceptions, doesn't 'fill in' any blind spots along the way but rather wholly embraces the present moment as it unfolds. Every sentence is literally an imagination-expanding adventure." — Craig Conley, author of One-Letter Words: A Dictionary (HarperCollins)

Teresa, thanks for the second link on the blog. I missed that one the first time around. One nice thing about living overseas is that you see how different cultures adapt to people with different tastes/views and yet still are culturally vibrant. Of course there are always the extremes, but it’s nice to see people more accepted than they would be in the U.S. On the second video, I loved the sudden change mid-song and the judges’ reactions.

When we lived in Olympia back in 1980, blackberries like that grew wild everywhere around our rented home. We were awash in fruit.. it was wonderful.

I would have loved to have seen Katharine Hepburn on the tennis court. She was known as a ‘Tom Boy’ in some circles and had some quite proficient athletic ability.
Case in point is this scene from 1952’s Pat and Mike where to prove a point Ms. Hepburn promptly steps up to a line of teed up golf balls and whacks each down the fairway in rapid succession with nary a one sliced or hooked. This is not a stunt double but Ms. Katharine Hepburn herself.
