   Re: Disappearing comments;
   Note: If you type your comment in Word or copy a quote from another comment that contains three periods … (horizontal ellipsis) the comment will disappear (surprise!).

   
   When you paste into the comment box place the cursor after last period and Backspace once if all three disappear it was an ellipsis.

   
   Now you can type three periods and submit. And, hopefully, if your comment has no other special characters (anything NOT in the ASCII Character Set) your comment will post.

   I have an open ticket with GoComics – they seem surprised at the weirdness because to the best of their knowledge nothing was done deliberately to suppress high-order ASCII or UTF-8 characters. I pointed out a couple of previous places in Frog Applause where I used musical notes and such, just so they could see that once upon a time, just about everything was allowed. Hopefully this is an inconvenience of short duration.

   Thanks for your note. I’m not aware of any intentional changes that have been made, but I do see the comment feature does note[sic] accept those symbols. I will investigate and let you know what we can do about it.
