Actually, Tom did paint part of that fence. He started it, in order to prove how much fun it was to his friends.

Actually, they are. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/huckleberry-finn-and-the-n-word-debate/ is three years old, but still valid. Someone even published a censored (“sanitized”) edition of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn .

I remember when I took an English class at the local CC. I sat in the back of the room and wound up in a group with a couple of guys, one on the basketball team, who were not that interested in the material. So I did all of the writing. But it was no big deal. It was easy because there was no outside research involved. But the instructor was mad about it. But if I wouldn’t have wrote then no writing would have taken place in that group.

Instead of reading “Huckleberry Finn” why not assign “Twelve Years a Slave” as required reading? I think there are a lot of inefficiencies in our society that are a hangover of our past. But no one can see them if they don’t read an honest appraisal of our past.

Oh, come on, Gaunt. This gag has all the finesse of a swift kick to the groin.

One thing I do like about it, though: A know-it-all makes a fool of herself. (That’s your cue, 6turtle9 …)
