    Well, at least Wikipedia is getting a workout from looking-up all these new Insects I’ve never heard of before.

    Enjoy all!

    Better idea? Plant milkweed to give Monarch butterflies a place to breed…..They love that stuff for some reason….

    mitchell’s satyr lives on the live fire range at fort bragg… better bring the combat gear

    @Varnes

    Their caterpillars eat the milkweed and incorporate some of the plant’s chemicals into their bodies. That’s what makes Monarchs taste bad to birds.

    They have built successful cable reality shows on that premise.

    Interesting unintentional comment on monarchs and war.
    .
    Maybe it is safer to live on a firing range than a place where humans might roam.

    Seems that according to the Wiki article posted by @Alexikakos, the population at Fort Bragg is Saint Francis’ satyr, not Mitchell’s satyr. More curiously, it seems to be the only population known anywhere and lives in a single 10×10 km area (a metapopulation).
    Very cool stuff.

    On another note, I am always amused that Frazz always knows exactly what these things are :-)

    You don’t even see butterflies around here anymore. There used to be a lot of them.

    No, no, NO! Don’t be amused! Don’t think! Do not have an opinion! And don’t comment about what a character “knows”. For one thing, you’ll be told that Frazz isn’t a real person, so he can’t “know” anything. For another, pointing out that it’s unusual that a guy would know that much will be seen as your problem, an odd, personal failing.

    If you need clarification on these, or any matters, ask Ewal Doh. He’ll be only too happy to condescend to you.

    Imagine how hard it was before when you had to go to books.

    @Ewal Doh: Nice deflection, and removal from context. While you’re writing about what “get(s) old”, consider your own arrogant predeterminations (cynical, derisive guesses?) as to others’ motivations.

    It takes a special kind of haughtiness for one to imagine that he can tell others what they’re thinking. “Alter ego”? Are you kidding me?

    Guys whose arguments shift with the blowing wind, and whose best stand is, "The other guy thinks … " are worse than unreliable; they’re liars. Cut it out with the speculation, would you?
