Life is too boring so Caufield does what he can to liven it up even if it costs him a better grade.

Caufield, the “averages” thing works only if the bonus points you get for turning this homework in early are the same as the points you lose for turning the next one late. But that is almost certainly not going to happen.

But then you will have learned a little more about averages.

No teacher is going to complain about receiving an assignment early.

If a teacher is a little disorganized and doesn’t have the right folder on them they might be worried they could lose the assignment.

I wonder if that is some sort of equality t-shirt Frazz is wearing.

She’s still going to mark yesterday’s assignment as late. Until then, dream on Caulfield, dream on.

Yeah, I don’t see how this is useful. He appears to do as much work in as much time.

You make a good point. He doesn’t save himself any time or effort; it’s just his “on-time performance”, as they say in the airline biz, that varies. I would call it pointless, except that Caulfield gets to be a nettlesome problem for his teacher and he gets to prove to the janitor how clever he is. That’s a great day for him.

For Caufield the grade is less important than his project to awaken his stayed, in the past, narrow minded teacher. Quite the project with only emotional satisfaction if he succeeds. Somethings just aren’t graded.

So this is what it takes to make Caulfield an average student?
