None of the above. A nobel peace prize since the 1960s has meant giving it to someone who makes war more likely. (Look at the list of awardees and you will see what I mean.) The other two require PC of enormous nature.

Plus the nobel people have shot themselves in the foot credibility wise too many times, such as giving it to Arafat the terrorist, to Gore for incredibly faulty, panic-mongering pseudoscience, and to the Obamanation for…let’s see, what was that for? Oh yeah, for doing absolutely nothing.

An Oscar. If I ever get one, my speech will be remembered long after the movie I win it for is.

And again, some of you manage to turn a harmless comic into a political rant.
It WASN’T EVEN about the Nobel Peace prize!

I wonder what it is with US citizens that makes them want to drag politics into everything… on the other hand, why do I even bother?

There’s always someone with an axe to grind out there and it’s extraordinary how often they are off topic.

Please try to have some patience with us. Nab brings politics into everything, and I’m frequently amazed at how many don’t know that the Nobel prizes are more than peace and literature. It’s just people here don’t want to try to think about science and math.

I just thought it nice how Caulfield came right back with “Genius.”

The MacArthur’s are often referred to as the “Genius Awards”

Sorry, Pete, but you were the first to say, “political”.

so, mlk jr’s nobel is meaningless? einstein’s nobel is meaningless? or, gb shaw, sinclair lewis, thomas mann’s nobels are meaningless? faulkner, hemingway, camus, pasternak, steinbeck, sartre, unicef, red cross, docs without borders, nobels are meaningless? and, even crick, watson, wilkins’s discovery of the dna is meaningless?

Nah, the PC doesn’t need to be of enormous nature. Anything with a word processor is enough to get the Pulitzer, and maybe throw in a C compiler and a few discipline-specific tools for the science Nobels.

You are absolutely right. The obsession with politics that some people display here is extremely disturbing.

I thought today’s comic was a nice simple play on the MacArthur “Genius” Grant. The “Genius” is always spoken and written in quotes.

Amazing how jealous people are of those who achieve. But then again, what can one expect? If any one of the complainers above had whatever it takes to actually be honered internationally, would he/she really be parroting the bird-brained nitwitisms that currently fill the page? And, would there even be a Teabaghead/Republican Party in existence?
