    That’s more thought than goes into most modern art.

    Also probably more thought than went into the assessment tests.

    The assessment tests are only as good as their questions. Even so I didn’t really know what I would be doing. I knew what I wanted to do.

    when I was a kid I hated getting done early, then you had to sit there with your head on the desk for an hour or how ever long it took for them to finish

    In college everything was multiple answer, which I always get done quickly. I once had a professor tell me as I handed in a test, “You don’t get extra credit for speed.”

    I need to try that. Don’t like the thumbnail on the toothbrush bristles as I can never make that work for how I need the end result to be…

    Ever try using an electric toothbrush to mash buttons in a video game? That tradition goes back to early arcade days.

    @Ewal Doh

    I’ve taken the Kuder test twice. Once in high school, again in my mid 40s. The results were quite similar. Color me preferring to work alone. I never did, though.

    I know he’s just a comic strip character, but the way he’s written, he couldn’t care less about any “system”. He’s above it all. A point of pride with him.

    No – he’ll have subverted the system. Caulfield may not have much respect for standardized tests and rote classroom drills but he is a bright kid who reads. Those are the ones who succeed in life.

    And in my opinion, he is giving the standardized test the proper kind of treatment it deserves. All that standardized tests prove is how well you take a standardized test, nothing more.

    Ewal Doh: “Ah yes, I remember it well.” Except we called it the cootie test.
