300 a month and up as an average of taxpayers money down the tubes depending on the size of the field and number of games at night.

Deep setup(A romantic date) for a excellent joke, especially since the moon glows white in the night sky.

What? Did you think schools were for education?

Or that college coaches shouldn’t have multi-million dollar saleries while the teachers struggle to survive?

Where have you been? This is America! Land of the ego.

I assume Mr, Mallett resents that the school supports a football team rather than a cycling team.

I knew someone who loved to look at the red setting sun through the trees across the river. She was crushed when I told her it was the neon sign of a nearby motel. (Sometimes the truth hurts.)

I think it’s more that the HS football season has started already, rather than simply the existence of HS football. Thus “seeing it so early” is what is depressing.

I sense a lot of pent-up frustration in some comments.

Write to your local school and tell them to limit the unnecessary lighting—it will save money!

And teach the kids with brains and other talents, that might last longer and make more of a difference in the world and/or bring entertainment to more people in the world, that they don’t matter. After all, the bright kids don’t need extra teaching, because they’ll figure it out on their own; the musical and artistic kids don’t need extra teaching, because they’re just “good” at it; but the tiny handful of athletes needs coaches and trainers and equipment and fields so we can beat (Big Rival) this season!

our society loves people throwing a ball. it loves it more than medicine, science, math, art, etc…they will protect that sport with a ball with every fiber of their being. even, if those student-athletes did something illegal(murder, rape, drugs, etc…).

It used to be that high school stadiums didn’t have lights. The games were played on Saturday mornings. I never understood why they’re played on Friday night now. I agree that there is far too much light pollution.
