I guess they mean that Mrs. Olsen has run over her share of signs in her car. So she’s also an inattentive driver, it takes one to know one….

All schools have posters on the walls giving advice about life…I bet one of them covered this….

It means that she has experience watching out for bad drivers who run into things, because the teachers’ lot is full of the effects of bad drivers.

My guess is the sign in the parking lot say “Watch out for Children.” Makes sense to me since most young children have no sense at all when crossing where cars are.

Those who said the she’s run over more than her share of signs are correct.

Mrs. Olsen is somewhat notorious for hitting signs in the parking lot because she wasn’t paying attention. My guess is she saw the driver with the cell phone and through her own experience realized that he was not aware enough of his surroundings to stop in time.

davidh, they were walking along the top of Pictured Rocks, when he “slipped” and “fell”…..

That’s my take on it too, she bent the signs in the lot, she saw an(other) inattentive driver, and did what she had to do. If the child was a sign, she probably would have just let him hit it.

If Frazz and Plainwell are right, then Coach Hacker should be an All-Pro defensive back in the NFL. I’d say foot speed and the ability to react quickly will trump experience and anticipation any day of the week. But those wouldn’t set up the punch line, would they? So we get silly contrivances, dressed up as insights, instead. Nice idea, poorly executed.
