Too lazy too, or incapable of, working out the answers on her own. (She lost the key, not the school board.)

Unfair to the ones who got an ‘A’. It only helps the dumb ones.

You know, I love Jeff, but he’s never been a teacher….Not having the answer key is no problem at all. Just ask a couple of the A students what the answers are….Even if a couple are wrong, (And believe me, other students will call them out on it!), it will stimulate discussion of why, and every one will learn more than they would have in the first place……BTW, just because you are the teacher doesn’t mean you can’t be humble at times like that…It’s your job as a teacher to show how to react and recover from such things…You think you’re teaching math, science or Language arts….? What you are really doing is modeling how to live a life…You’re on stage, everybody in the room is looking at you…If you can’t be real when you mess up, stay away from teaching……Kids are screwed up enough already….

Even the healthiest people can be tainted by a pathological society.
I don’t recall that ever happening when I went to school in the 1960’s-1970’s.
That is one alternative to the problem, might not be the best. It would help if tests didn’t count for so much in school now. All that corporate test taking dominance.

    She couldn’t just… cancel… the quiz?

In the 50s I can’t remember a test that the teacher didn’t create her/himself. She should know the answers.

“Fallible People in Positions of Authority”..or, as we used to say in the Navy: “Do you want to talk to the Officer in charge, or the ordinary seaman who actually knows what’s going on?”

Varnes, there should be more teachers like you. You seem to leave your ego at home and manage to think a bit outside the box. Wish my boys had run into more — hell, SOME — teachers like you.

I rather like this strip because of Caufields statement.

Good comment, Varnes… : ) Every great teacher that I ever had always said they were constantly learning from their students (and that was one of the things they loved about it.)

There is no better way to learn than by teaching!

I had some teachers like Ms. Varnes. They were the best!

Three of the kids appear to be chagrined by this news. They don’t want to settle for Bs. Jef Mallett doesn’t make who’s-smart-and-who-isn’t a prominent theme in “Frazz”? Heck, no!.
