    Well, it DOES waste trees, besides…
    very very very old trees….
    OK, not trees as we think of them now…
    but their tiny predecessors….
    squished into oil a long time ago….
    and in a very limited amount.

    Love the reference. We only got Tippecanoe for one month in the spring of 1841.
    His grandson was also president in the 1880s, and some other descendants run the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas.

    Can someone explain that pun to a poor foreigner pummelling her brain in vain?

    @cabalonrye

    I’m not a foreigner, and I don’t understand. There was a motto in a presidential election that went “Tippecanoe and Tyler, too.” But I can’t make the connection.

    A slogan from the presidential election of 1840. “Tippecanoe” was the Whig presidential candidate William Henry Harrison, a hero of the Battle of Tippecanoe in 1811. John Tyler was the vice presidential candidate.

    Not anymore. Now it is fossilized due to the coffee.

    Oh, fer cryin’ out loud – when the cup “tips,” it requires paper towels to clean up the mess, thus wasting trees.

    Back in 1841 war raged, when our country was beating up your country, Tyler was in Tippycanoe with his army. The saying was Tippycanoe, and Tyler too.
