Darn you, Pattersons! That’s what you get for not registering the dog!

Poor Farley! Look how skinny he is. No wonder he ran. He was probably desperate for a meal that didn’t involve turkey.
I guess in the intervening time since Farley’s last escape the Pattersons have failed to get him a license and a collar. Considering their apparent ignorance on the matter, I wonder if they will know to check the dog pound for Farley.

Now, now, folks…just calm down. If the Patterson’s had done everything exactly right, just where would be the adventure in this story? So, just lean back and enjoy the story and hopefully you won’t have to order another bottle of blood pressure medicine right away.

Here’s a good advertisement for an implanted ID microchip. Each of my dogs has had one (in addition to collar, name tag, registration). But sometimes collars come off.

yes, animal control, people control, not much difference.
the two legged are more trouble, though.

My old dog always slipped his collar. Aside from which, I always said that the person who managed to lay hands on him could have him.
Nobody touched that dog without his consent save for his masters and those they said had permission to touch him.

“Who would want to pick up Farley?”
Farley was a purebred Old English Sheepdog. For that reason alone, there would be plenty of people interested in picking him up.

Hopefully they will think to look at the pound, and they’ll find him. But will they have to pay a bundle to get him out?

If you magnify the comic, you can see that the wall sign in the last panel does say Animal Control…
