Pulitzer Prize editorial cartoonist Signe Wilkinson spread her wings and created Family Tree, allowing her to write and draw outside the left/right, headline-driven box of daily editorial cartooning. A contemporary family comic strip, it chronicles the humorous challenges that Ames, Maggie, Twig and Teddy encounter when trying to live "green" and with environmental purpose.

Just bring some Clan MacGregor. No one will know what anything will taste like after a few shots of that!

But it only works if it tastes like grandma’s. I spent the 29 years trying to get my stuffed peppers and stuffed cabbage to taste like grandma’s. Finally found the secret 3 years ago. Funny part is when I mentioned what I found to my relatives-they ALL knew the secret, but wouldn’t tell me when I asked!

My maternal grandmother’s specialty was overcooked meat, but her pecan pies made up for that until her eyes started to fail. (She preferred to shell her own pecans – ouch!)
My paternal grandmother’s specialty was cooking wild turkey (the bird, not the whiskey), but sense of smell went out and we learned not to eat any more of her cakes. She couldn’t tell if the milk had soured or not.
