My mom would feed the squirrels. She has before! She also feeds feral cats, and the night-time food dishes are also visited by raccoons, skunks and opossums.

Back in the 80s there was a public health type in Philly who said that deer “are just big, cute rats with antlers.” The number of diseases for which deer are vectors is mind-boggling.
