Pulitzer Prize editorial cartoonist Signe Wilkinson spread her wings and created Family Tree, allowing her to write and draw outside the left/right, headline-driven box of daily editorial cartooning. A contemporary family comic strip, it chronicles the humorous challenges that Ames, Maggie, Twig and Teddy encounter when trying to live "green" and with environmental purpose.

Especially since most school districts pay more for almighty football than they pay for the rest of their sports combined!
Look at the palatial stadiums that are built for high school football (which usually have heated restrooms with hot & cold running water as well as concession stands).
Baseball, field hockey, lacrosse and soccer at most high schools are played on sandlots where the players are lucky to have a port-a-pot.

Football puts butts in the seats. Title IX, not so much.

Interestingly enough, I played high school sports, but got most of my injuries in gym class.

and here in central Missouri, the local major hospital orthopedic center is open from 7:30 to 9:30 every Friday evening just so injured high school athletes…mostly football and soccer players…can get instant services. Drive through broken bone setting….

When girls field hockey can fill the stadium with people paying upwards of $7 a pop to get in maybe the schools will spend more on them.

Ah, but Title IX was supposed to fix that: girls were entitled to sports; they didn’t have to pay their way! Let the money-making programs pay for the funding drains. My alma mater just announced it’s blowing off baseball and men’s soccer; you can bet none of the women’s sports were touched.
