It all makes sense when you realize those people tend to be highly irrational.

They get worked up over fur and not leather because fur comes from animals raised specifically for the purpose of providing pelts for coats and hats, nothing else.

Leather is just one product that comes from a process where no part of the animal is wasted after its slaughter.

Enjoy your hot dogs at the ballpark.

I think it’s more a matter of not thinking the matter through. Having grown up with “causers” in high school and college, the basic idea of such is to give their chosen lifestyles meaning by adopting causes that hurt people and animals.
    .
Such “causers” made problems for those of us who were trying to conserve species.
    .
The typical animal rights person is a drug user and because of that drug use, eventually has no morals. Lying is typical. Misrepresentation of situations is standard. Most got into their cause so they could “get laid”, as they used to put it. At one point just after high school I was invited to such in Eugene in order to “get laid”, but had little interest in STDs and pot.
    .
The awful things that such groups do to animals can’t be condoned.
    .
For example, the Humane Society of Portland paid for an illegal cougar hunt in SW Oregon to get cougar hunting banned. They paid a man to have his dogs attack a cougar (something a hunter would not do, because he loves his dogs). Never mind the poor dogs and the cougar got shredded.

A common but vile practice is to get hired by a meat-packing plant, then mistreat the animals horribly and videotape it, claiming it was a common practice. The stocks would be an appropriate punishment for someone that cruel.

there will never be any evolution in animals, because we will kill them all out, and then we will end up eating ourselfs.

Splash paint on a fur-wearing old lady and she’ll run away in tears.

Splash paint on a leather-wearing biker dude and you’ll need reconstructive surgery.

Splash paint on a fur-wearing old lady and she’ll buy another fur to replace it. How does that help the animals?

So when did you take your turn at working in a slaughter house so YOU could abuse animals, video tape it and claim it was common practice?
