Once upon a time there was a duplex where a young bachelor named Eno and his dog, Fang, shared an ultra-macho haven of beer snacks and male-bonding. Suddenly, their lives turned co-ed when Gina and her poodle, Mitzi, moved into the other half of their building... the question is, who will come out on top in Glenn McCoy’s, The Duplex?

I think I know what it is. If I’m right, it won’t stop squeaking until the batteries run down.

OK, I’ve got to ask. Why is “squeak” spelled two different ways on the ‘toon?
Burgundy2 said, 8 months ago
I think the 2 different spellings are there because when a dog really goes at a squeaky toy like Fang is, he manages to generate a variety of squeak noises.

He wann’t sur of the spelling so he used both versions. He could have used skweeky.

Isn’t it interesting that the word “squeak” is annoying even when you read it?

“Squeek” is more passive than the forth-right “Sqeak”. I think Burgundy is right too. How about a “Squoke” every once in a while denoting a forceful intake of atmosphere? Or the opposite, “Squik” ?
