Toggle seems to have matured a bit in this strip— I guess it has been a while since we last saw him.

I learnt to deal with these pesky phones over fifty years ago when I started work. During a conversation I was having with my older, more experienced colleague, one of the phones in the office rang and I went to pick it up but he said, “leave it; if it’s important they’ll call back but if it isn’t, they won’t.”

Toggle sneaks up on you for sure. I think he’s one of GT’s better recent characters.

Once you become a parent, you will keep your cell phone nearby, just in case. This doesn’t mean you have to be glued to it. It is just available. Welcome to parenthood in 2014. This has been my world since having a child in 1997. Don’t forget, they are parents now, even if the kids are home with the babysitter.

So, Toggle grew up in a trailer park, son of a single mother. Enlisted in the army. Wine drinker? What is this, Italy?

Romantic dinners (and new parents NEED the occasional date night!) kind of require wine. Tequila wouldn’t suit the mood at all.
