And to think that Afghanistan was once part of the Persian Empire, one of the great centres of civilisation and learning in the ancient world.

And England was once a part of the Roman Empire and, at the time, out in the boondocks and not exactly the center of civilization. Actually, pretty much like today.

Keep them voting is a problem? Voting for the working poor is only a problem for the ruling class.

the book “event” was probably the site of a drone attack,. you know, a Military “book event”, set up to create more enemies in the guise of getting “one.” the American way to “win friends and influence people.” win-win-win American style

Sure does. That’s the GOP approach to governance. Why else would they slash education budgets and fire teachers by the thousands? A dumb voter is an easily manipulated voter. It also explains Rush Limbaugh, the Voice of the GOP. Llistening to just one of his program drops your IQ by several notches.

’ It is believed that among other things the country holds $3 trillion in untapped mineral deposits.’
    .
Or at least, that’s what they told us when they wanted us to stay there forever. Sort of an “oil will pay for this war in Iraq” lie.
