“But I’m stuck like a dope on a thing called hope and I can’t get it out of my heart…” or something like that.

Dope will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no dope. ~ Gilbert Shelton.

Ahh, the secret of eternal youth – in the comics. But from the scenery ‘around the property’ it seems he is already in Colorado.

I still think Zonker should move to Loveland, Co

The name of our little city alone is enough for a few good punchlines

Loveland isn’t Paradise, but you go through Loveland to get there.

Calvin is eternally 6. Some characters have to stay where they are, it’s just the way the character is “built”. Others can grow older and the story flows properly. Either way, my hat is off to these comic geniuses. Actually it’s off because I’m indoors, but you get the idea.

Remember folks, the only thing more foolish than a talking sock puppet, is responding to it as if it were a real person

But there are younger characters that they can switch to. I wish they would and only visit the older ones occasionally.

“Dope” is the slang term most used by anti (some) drug enforcers and evangelists. Both Hemp and marijuana were important in our nation’s past. “Grow Hemp for the War Effort” (1938) when the fanatics had to back down to save the country by growing Hemp for the US govt.

Good goin’ DavyG! That was my first thought. Why does everyone else think of “dope” instead?

Too much musical theater in my youth. That song, along with “He’s a music man and he sells clarinets to the kids in the towns…” are permanently burned into my memory, even though they weren’t my parts. I will remember those after I have forgotten my own name. Now I just looked out my window and saw that it’s “Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day. I’ve got a beautiful feeling, because it is Sa-aturday.”
