"Garry Trudeau is the premier American social and political satirist of his time." -Newsweek Doonesbury has managed to be articulate, abrasive, political, compassionate, misunderstood, misprinted, and outrageous - but one thing it's never been is complacent. Garry Trudeau's creation has chronicled American history and culture in a parallel universe. And through it all, Doonesbury has always been honest, entertaining, and thought-provoking.

" Come gather ‘round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You’ll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you
Is worth savin’
Then you better start swimmin’
Or you’ll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin’. "

I saw an 8-track in a movie once. That’s it.

I still have an 8-track tape recording deck. Not much of a call for it now, but when this new fangled digital craze is over, I’m ready.

Fond memories of Jim Croce and Harry Chapin 8-tracks getting me across the country in my ’71 Gremlin X. Those, and a couple of Chicago and The Who tapes, and my CB kept me awake and semi-sane on that cold, lonely journey from Connecticut to Arizona in the dead of winter.

Speaking of old-timey music, Sunday was the 40th anniversary of the release of Dark Side of the Moon. I bought it on vinyl soon after.

Lordy I’m old. I still have the album and the poster that came with it. I believe it is with my poster advertising Deep Purple in concert.

..and Aerosmith in my ’72 Gremlin X with a 304 V-8, 3 speed manual. Fond memories for sure, but I eventually upgraded to that “New” technology cassette deck around ’75.

One of the conditions in ‘Armageddon’ for the oil workers to save the Earth was, ‘Bring back 8 tracks.’ Dumb movie… but I liked that part.’

I have two 8 track recorders and a 4 channel quadraphonic 8 track player. I also have two playtape players and tapes I got at a garage sale. I remember the original Lear 4 track.
