Can’t wait till Trudeau gets back to the Warren campaign storyline. Her claim that she is American Indian because she may be 1/32 Cherokee (or is it Delaware?) is just too juicy to pass up. Thecomics will write themselves, there is so much good material there.

I dearly hope Leo says “No” to the whole thing. And since this isn’t Mary Worthless, he might.

Dads never win during the wedding planning stage. I thought everyone knew that. We’ve known that since the original “Father of the Bride”…

And about 3/4s of the folks from here in East Tennessee try to make the same claim of some Cherokee ancestory. Our state’s name originated as the name of one of the principal Overhill Cherokee villages, Tanasi.

Did one of your great-great-great-grandparents marry, or at least “seriously” date a redwood?

Wouldn’t be surprised about “dating a redwood” in Oregon.

I wish that morons like you could find something to do, other than parroting Limbaugh all over the internet.

It’s coming to the point where you’ll only be able to say you’re (some)part-indian is if you qualify for BIA registration. In other words, it’s up to the federal government whether you’re indian or not. We don’t ask for the same kind of verification for Italian-Americans or Polish-Americans, or even African-Americans. Why only American indians?

And BTW, you might want to do a little more reading on exactly whose word Tennessee’s name came from. The Cherokees have been spinning a good yarn for centuries and much of it isn’t true. Try this site for well-documented references: www.yuchi.org
