Babies and puppies are both quite cute, but underneath the soft, cuddly exteriors lie the fearsome hearts of competitors. Well, not really. When a new baby joins the household, Sophie the dog is initially irritated, but eventually comes to see the baby, Doug, as the asset he is: a better way to get snacks. Though the baby is still hogging precious attention, and has a tendency to pull ears and be a general nuisance, a begrudging friendship forms between the two rivals. Watch the mischief unfold in Brian Anderson’s Dog Eat Doug.

You’ve never owned nor been to the house of anybody who owned cats ? This is nothing- I have had stable cats on the arms of the stable clock tower clock a la Dad’s Army/ Wallace & Gromit

Where there’s a will, there’s a way, and when it comes to investigating new places cats have a lot of will

I see our resident Troll is still threatening to drop the strip (bye already) and is so upset about the addition of the kittens it has lost its’ ability to spell

If I left my garage door up all night anybody could walk in my house! At least here, if a burglar tries to walk in, Cat can pounce on his head. LOL

At one time I had a break-in and my ferocious four, while normally friendly, tore up the guys face and arms; and reduced him to a blubbering fearful mess hiding in my closet from those “horrible gigantic monsters”
Come on now 22 pound and up Maine Coons are not gigantic, just large cats a healthy weight for their skeletons.
The cops were happy to take him to a nice safe jail, without cats.

I hope Sophie and the kitties will end up being good friends. Just like Sophie is with Doug.

I’ve read several ‘complaints’ this week about how the kitties are drawn. I, too, was taken aback at first glance, however, their alien faces appeal to me. You don’t know what he kitties are thinking because you see the alien face. We’ve had practically exclusive kitty because Brian was introducing them and their peculiar, exceedingly polite relationship. Now the fun can begin.

I love how Brian has drawn Hobo and Cheese; alien-like heads are a trait of the inscrutable feline domesticus.
But I wonder why Brian hasn’t drawn “ticklish whissers (a.k.a. whiskers)” with which to torment/tickle both Doug and Sophie. Love Sophie’s nonchalance in 3rd panel. She’s got it under control…training Hobo on who’s boss!
You rock, Brian!
