Babies and puppies are both quite cute, but underneath the soft, cuddly exteriors lie the fearsome hearts of competitors. Well, not really. When a new baby joins the household, Sophie the dog is initially irritated, but eventually comes to see the baby, Doug, as the asset he is: a better way to get snacks. Though the baby is still hogging precious attention, and has a tendency to pull ears and be a general nuisance, a begrudging friendship forms between the two rivals. Watch the mischief unfold in Brian Anderson’s Dog Eat Doug.

It’s hard to have breakable things when you have cats!

Do these cats remind anyone else of Mac & Tosh (the Goofy Gophers of Looney Toons fame)? With their upperclass mode of speech, their over-politeness (to each other) and someone effeminate mannerisms, I can hear them now.

Yes! I honestly thought, when I decided to include the cats, they would be darker and more prone to take over the world. Wasn’t sure where their behavior actually came from. They reminded me of something but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Indeed, yes it’s the influence of Mac & Tosh. And thanks to Tom Racine (Tall Tale Radio) for pointing it out to. Love those guys!

@Brian Anderson
I think they remind me of Fraser and Niles Crane from Fraser.

I like Sophie with her rounded face and expressive eyes and eyebrows and ears. (her scowls etc..) These kitties are not cute at all. Please add some cuteness.

Pinky and the Brain? BTW I’m a dog person, yet love these cats. They think exactly what I’ve thought cats in my live were thinking.

Much closer to my experience of cats than “Lolspeak.”

How come Hobo and Cheese’s “parents” didn’t come running when they broke the vases?

Oh, I wish I had thought to use them as inspiration. That’s an awesome idea.

I’ve been real impressed lately. Didn’t like the cats at first, but this is the third good one in a row. I like it when their cat OCD interrupts their seriousness.
