Babies and puppies are both quite cute, but underneath the soft, cuddly exteriors lie the fearsome hearts of competitors. Well, not really. When a new baby joins the household, Sophie the dog is initially irritated, but eventually comes to see the baby, Doug, as the asset he is: a better way to get snacks. Though the baby is still hogging precious attention, and has a tendency to pull ears and be a general nuisance, a begrudging friendship forms between the two rivals. Watch the mischief unfold in Brian Anderson’s Dog Eat Doug.

Some of my hubby’s friends in college had a cat and 2 ferrets. The ferrets would do EXACTLY this (latch on to the cat’s fur on her side and go for a ride around the house) to the kitty, who oddly never seemed to mind.

To @GoldenRoya (yesterday)…I take pleasure in constructing elaborate discourse myself…..but I come to DED for a light-hearted break!

Our St Bernard has a gigantic tail and it seems to be always wagging
It’s a target her best buddy, our youngest cat, just can’t resist
The dog loves the cat, so the more they play the more the tail wags, and the more the tail wags the more the cat pounces

Sophie has an entourage.

Given the clear upper crust diction of these 2 little kitties, you should level the playing field, Brian. Give them banal names like “Hobo” and “Cheese” as I tend to think of them.

Many more years ago than I want to admit, a huge stray white tom fathered every kitten in our neighborhood for about 5 yrs. We had a LOT of white kittens around.
Stray kittens tended to find their way to my soft hearted mom and we named the first one we adopted, Pebbles, the Second one Rocky and when the third white kitten came along I tried to figure out a good easy name that fit the theme. For some reason, total brain block
So, the kitty was just called White Cat. One day a few weeks later, as I was bemoaning my lack of imagination and telling dad “we need to find a name for the White cat” my dad laughed quietly and said “He IS named” Then called “White Cat” To which White cat replied Meow and came running.
Cats don’t care what you call them as long as it’s not late for dinner.

As long as there’s food, a cat learns its name whatever you call it.

Feeling a little heavier today Sophie? Kittens do like to tag along on anything moving.
