Yup, those children killed in Prince Georges County, MD are dead because of… Hollywood movies, not guns.

“Hollywood” is a diverse group of people, as are republicans and democrats.
.
On the other hand, the NRA management has less diversity.

Hollywood is only part of the hypocrisy.

Why is it that they watch the same violent movies all over the world, but don’t have the same problems with guns? Quit blaming Hollywood.

Sorry, Uncle Joe. Don’t talk to sense to a conservative. It wastes your time and annoys the conservative.

@Uncle Joe Not only that, but are Americans really so stupid as to not realize that Hollywood movie violence is not real?
Some time ago there was a big deal about the violence in Looney Tunes. As if Wiley Coyote could fall off a high cliff, and then have a large boulder fall on him, and then in the next scene be using some kind of an Acme Co. device to try and catch that elusive Roadrunner!!
Yeah, as if that was real!!!

I find this trend of making fairy tales into stupid violent movies is kind of disturbing. The violence of Hansel and Gretel Witchunters, and “Jack the Giant Slayer” are symbols of our age of common mass murder.

The violence in Brothers Grimm fairy tales didn’t lead to people murdering people en masse. Nor did the Illiad or other ancient tales, even those focused on war.
It is the GUN CULTURE, combined with the “I can do whatever I want with guns” attitude in the U.S., more than any other nation, that makes the violence here “acceptable”, not the movies.
South Africa has a lot of violent crime, as do other countries where guns are easy to get, and the value on human life is low. WE are the “industrialized nation” leader in deaths by gun, or other homicide, period. It IS the “worshipping” of guns, not their use as tools for hunting that makes the difference. The readiness to get, and use, guns in crime is an issue of opportunity, and that is the NRA, not MGM, ABC, CBS, or even Fox with their “crime” shows.

They just give ’em what they want.

Stephen king had a book revoked when felt it influenced kids too much to commit violence with guns. So point is – media can inspire to do things, but they aren’t the cause. Same reason there is an age restriction to watch said things.

@Uncle Joe
The cartoon does not blame Hollywood, it just exposes their hypocrisy in asking for gun control while making movies that glorify gun violence. If they would simply STFU then this cartoon would have no legs; but the fact that they think they know better than we do, makes the toon relevant.

@Robert Landers
The average person has the sense to realize that Hollywood movie violence is not real. But that same group of people do not do crazy things like go on a killing spree. However, there are a few crazy people that are influenced by Hollywood, and it is those crazy people that do the killing. You wouldn’t be stupid enough to be influence by Hollywood, but you also wouldn’t be stupid enough to kill like that.

@dtroutma
If the gun culture is causing people to go on killing sprees, then I guess we should take the guns from all policemen. Also, you would expect policemen to be the largest segment of our society that goes on killing sprees. Reality says otherwise. You listen to the wrong people to get your logic.
