Richard Thompson's Cul de Sac, is a comic strip about the life of a pre-school girl named Alice Otterloop. It is a light-hearted comic strip centered around a four-year old girl and her suburban life experiences on a cul-de-sac with her friends Beni and Dill, older brother Petey and her classmates at Blisshaven Academy pre-school. Alice describes her father's car as a "Honda-Tonka Cuisinart" and talks to the class guinea pig, Mr. Danders. She has the typical older brother who plays jokes on her, and she contemplates ways to keep the scary clown from jumping out of the jack-in-the-box with friends.

The Cul de Sac neighborhood is fortunate to have such a civic-minded citizen as Dill looking
outin for its welfare! Madeline should take to heart her need to keep the house cleaner!Citizen GROG!

Yeah! What if there’s some oldster living alone who has fallen and can’t get up? Dill would see them and get help … unless he means something else by “checking on” and “community service” ( which is certainly possible).

Meddling busy-bodies are all doing it for “the community”. From murderous neighborhood watch, to the old biddie who peers out from her curtains and calls the cops if a kid retrieves a ball from her yard. They are all pure-hearted public servants.

My first thought was, “Honey? Would you bring me the poker from beside the fireplace, please?”

If it weren’t for the dust bunnies, I would have had no pets as a kid.

This comment is not meant just for today’s strip. I hope it gets to Richard Thompson. Thank you for this wonderful creation. I have read nearly all of the original Cul de Sac panels, and am just as thrilled to read them a second time. While I am very sorry for your medical condition, I want you to know that you are being upheld in the thoughts and prayers of many of us, and we look forward, daily, to the next strip. thank you, and God bless.
