The GOP has no war on women. We love them and marry them. Better for them than rape them and lie about it.

There is no war on anyone what is really needed is for people to be RESPONSIBLE for their actions. An oune of prevention is wort MORE than a pound of cure. I don’t suppose there are too many RESPONSIBLE people about these days.

I guess a “responsible” woman will keep her knees together to grip the aspirin, while a knife is at her throat, and a gun to her head? (Check the history of “Republican thought”, not just Akin.)

It is so FUNNY reading about Bennett’s total ignorance!

Hey, Bennett! Go to ANY Tea Party rally! Visit with as many different women – with their husbands, of course – and ask them about the ‘war on women’. Ask them if they are suppressed, beaten, downtrodden, disrespected, etc.

They will ALL laugh at you!

Of course, you won’t believe anyone at the Tea Party rally, because you are so prejudiced against them …

the GOP should do a campaign against the Democratic Party’s WAR ON THE UNBORN AMERICANS.-best comparison before voting…..print out the Dem’s Platform and print out the GOP’s Platform and vote like Jesus would vote, in obeying Biblical teachings of what is right and what is wrong.

The leadership of the Republicant Party wants Akins to “cave man, cave!” But he won’t. He is the new norm and he is OUT of the closet.

Mr. Guess, you might want to consult with some folks familiar with domestic abuse, and rescuing women from offense male “partners”. The overwhelming statistic is that “conservative”, and “authoritarian” mind set in the men is FAR dominant.

At the same time, a friend from ‘Nam was a “little guy”. He married FOUR women, all bigger than him, who ended up beating the “c” out of HIM, and he divorced them. He made bad choices with strong, authoritarian FEMALES! It isn’t always a “one way thing”!! (picking your spouse in a bar isn’t always a good thing either???)

The most fascinating group of all are the women who oppose other women’s right to birth control measures. Simply amazing.

So, if you’re poor -abstinance!!! And, of course, we only have to look to the poorer countries of the world to see how well that works. I’m constantly amazed at the Christian charity displayed by the right.

Until you have a friend or family member sobbing in your kitchen, then at the hospital, and then watch from a distance as police take the report, you can’t-as a man- have even that tenuous understanding of what SHE has gone through. It has always been considered honorable to protect women and girls from attacks of any kind, and dishonorable/unethical/immoral to punish HER for being attacked. But it happens too often and the comments of people like Akin-who, I hope, has no one in his life who has ever endured such an attack-are infuriating to women who haven’t been attacked and an emotional punch in the gut AND face to women who haveRespectfully,C.

^^^While your “statistic” is an obvious fabrication, you might note I said “conservative” and “authoritarian”, NOT reflective of a “political party” but rather a personality type. It’s PROVEN by criminal statistics with regard to assaults, whether bar fights, drive by shootings, or spousal abuse, to be accurate. The personality type for discussion and resolution WITHOUT violence, IS the “non-authoritarian”, and yes “liberal” as in wiling to seek information and accept other viewpoints to achieve understanding.

And yes, I’ve worked with my local organization that helps battered women, including donating a car so they could pick up women and families subject to danger, WITHOUT using their personal vehicles and exposing themselves to danger or harm by being identified when transporting.(which had happened) Again, it IS the “personality type” prone to violence, not “necessarily” any “political identification”.

“Based on the teachings of Jesus, I highly doubt he’d vote Republican this year.” so said Jase…

-Jesus, God the Son, inspirer of 66 books of God’s Bible, upholds human life (born and preborn) as SACRED because God created the father of the human race, Adam, and breathed life into him and destined obedient humans to eternal life. God instituted capital punishment for murder….as the ideal, due to the sacredness God gave human life.-Jesus would not vote for politicians that support and uphold the miscarriage of justice Roe vs Wade USSC 1973 decision for legalizing abortions of the preborn, now numbering in the 50 millions.…. God may very well be allowing “bad stuff” like 9/11/01 and disasters to happen to the nation of anti-godly citizens who seem to be in the majority. …we need for the majority to vote Nov.6th for the platform most pleasing to God which is only found in the GOP platform. God is Pro-Life, and I am on God’s side….

If “God” is “pro-life” explain the myth of Noah. Also, why didn’t he just turn all the gays in Sodom “straight”, or step in so a “good faithful guy” wouldn’t send his daughters to the mob to save himself?? Oh, right turned a lady to salt for taking a peek, yup, real “pro-life”.

Jim: I’ve read the Bible, the Quran, Heinlein, Asimov, Arthur C.Clark, and Samuel Clemens. More “reality” has “come true” in the last four, than in the first two. The readers of the first two are also the ones going out and killing the masses based on what they’ve read, or “Interpreted”, as “mandates” from a deranged “higher being”.

No, he;s right. God does not force his will on others. He leaves that to the people who read SELECTED passages fromthe Bible and ignore anything that doesn’t suit their viewpoint.

I’ve read Hitchens’ book, so I knew about Broaddick’s allegations. My own opinion of Clinton’s morals is not high — I would say he’s a major sleazebag (though he was a moderately good president). But in all fairness, no charges were ever filed, so these allegations are unproved, and have never had to stand up against refutation. And some other allegations against him have not held up. I have insisted — for example — that George Zimmerman should not be considered guilty until he is convicted, and I think the same standard should apply here. What do you think is fair?

Of course I noticed that you said “accused” rather than “convicted”. If he’d been convicted, he would be nowhere near the convention. But accusations don’t always stand up — that’s why people go to court, and that’s why courts give the accused an opportunity to refute the charges. I’m not saying I know he didn’t do it, I’m saying he was never charged, and therefore we haven’t heard his refutation. Did you know the Republicans are about to nominate an accused tax-fraud felon?
