You need it if you need to divide a recipe when cooking.

Invert the divisor and multiply.

Add, subtract, multiply and divide – yes. Have never had to use algebra – ever!

I had the same arguement about my high school English class. I asked my mother why I had to take the class when I already read, write and speak English.

I learned how to do this from my trombone teacher. We often went off on such tangents – but that’s another mathematical concept entirely!

You need it to figure out those BOGO sales. Why get so excited over a 25% discount. Now, if those sales were 50% or more?……. then I would be interested.

I’ve had to use basic algerbra sometimes, like 3X + 4 = 10

It’s to keep idiots out of medical school.
