Well, it DOES carry a powerful laser, for science, not violence. I’ll find it great if they could find true signs of life, not just chemical, but actual organisms, like those currently on Earth or their ancestors, making “interesting” conversations with the “Genesis is literal” sect.
At about $2.6 billion, a reasonable price to pay to advance scientific knowledge and curiosity of the universe. That works out to about nine days killing people and blowing things up the other side of the world.
