I like it. The expression “happy as a clam” never made much sense to me. “Happy as a dog” sounds a lot better.

I’ve wondered that too – why so negative about dogs?? I love what they’ve done here! Thank you!!

Love my mutt, right now she’s lying on the bed in the wind of the fan with her face happy in dog dreams. My best friend.

When my oldest boy was only three, he told me once that “It’s a doggy dog world.” I nearly cried and I told him, “For sure…That’s the way it is SUPPOSED to BE.”

Years ago, we had a well adjusted dog, was great for handling livestock. However, one day, for reason unknown, he was trotting along with tail up in the air as he went under an electric fence!!!Ki Yi Ki Yi -———-And to add insult to injury, hit it again running out the other side of the pen.

What about “Lucky dog” and “Every dog has its day”?

When it gets right down to it, though, I’ve never liked dogs and wouldn’t have one. They’re too servile and dependent.
