How about “Catastrophe”? Because like a catastrophe, he normally doesn’t act at all, but when he does act, he acts without warning and with disastrous consequences.
When I worked at a veterinary hospital, we had a feline on the patient files named “Astrophe.” It had a roommate canine named “Range.” When the records manager, totally dumbfounded, asked for some insight into the names, we all rolled our eyes, and said in unison it’s a CAT, “Astrophe,” and a “Range” ROVER!
I don’t like this one because I think Jon is too sweet & dimwitted to be sarcastic and he definitely adores Liz too much to be sarcastic with her. I can definitely see Garfield being sarcastic, and think it would play better with the roles reversed, but then I am not clear on whether Liz & Jon understand what he thinking.
