Stephen; you do realize that quantum physics supports much of Buddhism’s philosophy, not much the “bible view”. The fact that the “solid” “real” world, is mostly, well nothing, IS proven by physics.
Yeah…except philosophy lost its last link to science back around the late 1800s, when psychology split off from it — say around 1890 when William James wrote his book on psychology.I do find the aggressive atheism of some folks annoying — the best science has done is to prove that God is unnecessary, not nonexistent, regardless of what you may think is the case — but I don’t think philosophy is your best weapon.
Its a world wide experiment (with some 5000 people involved all over the world) and the final was made in a Large Hadron collider located in France. But I guess it shouldn´t be surprised if some people twist it to be some american acomplishement.
Ever notice that when men create gods, they also create armies, and war? Wisdom is asking the questions, and NOT making up your own answers to give yourself power.
My cat is rubbing her head on my foot, so to me, for the moment, she is “alive”.
Let us remember that one cannot prove a negative. No human being has theability to prove that life does not exist elsewhere in the universe, or that God does not exist.
Second point: Like most political ideologies, most religions have very nice ideas at their core. The problems associated with both categories start because human beings are involved. There are always people who decide to use the system to gain or maintain power over others.
