Many, many (many!) years ago, someone in this strip made the remark that “a tree is a bush that made it.” This seems almost like a direct reference to that.

Those smaller trees around the big tree are family. Remember – “the seed doesn’t fall far from the tree?” I think that’s what this form of success is about.

@chithing: I’m glad I’m not the only one old enough to remember that line.

Ironically the success with the crowd means more fighting over water.

And if it weren’t for your comments, I would have missed the point of the strip entirely — the way it was drawn, I thought he was looking at the birds in the sky, and wondered what the gag was…. I must need more coffee.

Foolish vain people go on FaceBook and other “social media”…don’t you know how much and how often our government’s beloved SECURITY services…and the private companies they hire…comb for YOUR info? and how long it remains?

Forget a career if you’ve EVER been on Facebook. Darpa and a couple of other gov agencies ran requests for better data-mining software…AND wikileaks (gasp! those traitors) ran a piece on on a company urging its employees on how many accounts they were supposed to cover each day, what new categories they were looking for…etc.

Suck-suck0suckkas…ooops…I mean, my beloved, intelligent fellow American citizens…jerks. I don’t know which frustrates me more, the jerks who have done this to Americans, or the jerks who got caught and still get caught in the net…
