It’s well over a decade old problem, so the discussion should be getting worn threadbare by now?

Shoot, they were the first ones demanding higher tuition for everyone, except illegals and foreignors.

I don’t usually agree with much that you say, Skip, but I’ll admit my music history degree and theology minor aren’t doing me a whole lot of good in my engineering job. However, I still believe a well rounded education is important, so we still need some people to teach the English, music, philosophy, and history classes. Just be prepared to go straight through to your doctorate if you want to be considered for a job on these fields.

Not only that but they started a new university out of part of USF that was hijacked. It is unaccredited so what professor is going to work there and what student wants to pay to go to an unaccredited college.I’m not sure how many millions that cost.JD Alexander university.

What a coincidence, the new university that I mentioned has some problems with its administrators. They spent money on crazy stuff like expensive electronics, home appliances and a plastic slide to get from the second floor of a building to the first floor.

What do you expect? There are all those tenured professors who don’t even teach! They gotta pay their outrageous salaries – along with all those administrators that also do nothing.

Oh, by the way, some colleges are giving credit hours for demonstrating in the Occupy Wall Street movement. How stupid can you get?

Tech schools all over are booming because kids are wanting a REAL education where they can get a REAL job and not have a lifetime debt.

So if liberal universities are so hugh, why aren’t the students enrolling in the cheaper right wing universities whith the discounted tuitions?

Nope. The Computer Science and Engineering Department cost $1.7 Mill. The Athletic Department (Football mostly) brings in 30 times that. $68 Million of INCOME! Think of how much more they can make with a little more investment.Yes, I see the problem, but Business is Business.

I was lucky that both my kids got scholarships at out-of-state colleges. But Colorado is basically no longer funding education above 12th grade (thanks to conservative anti-tax crusades) so today’s kids are having to pay their entire way, unlike when America actually supported education. Paul Ryan promises to make it far worse by eliminating all Federal support as well. Welcome, kids! We’ve got ours, but we won’t pass it forward! Just be sure to vote against the GOP if you want to buy a house and start a family instead of spending the first 20 years paying off loans.

List some schools where a coach is payed LESS than a professor? Difficult if not impossible. Years ago our science department lost all funding for lab supplies, to buy new football uniforms for the team. So much for “alumni” supporting what football “needs”.

Football is simply the greatest disaster to ever hit education in this country, from grade schoolers held back so they will be “big enough” for high school football, to a nation more concerned about a college championship game, or a “pro bowl”, than sending thousands off to wars. Maybe follow “The Last Boy Scout” rule and issue them guns to play football. Kill two “birds” with one Glock??
