I wonder why nobody ever calls him “Charlie.” Why the full name, always? No wonder Peppermint Patty calls him “Chuck”—she`s probably trying to help him reinvent himself. Nah…Patty just accepts him as he is.

Seems like Charlie Brown has peer trouble wherever he is.

I’m afraid some people have the looks and demeanor that attract bullies and even kids who don’t usually make fun of others. I empathized with CB. But he too often depressed me. I was young and didn’t see the humor in the victimizing of CB.

I was teased growing up too. The kids called me Charlie Brown due to My First name being Charlie. That stoped when as I got to High School whewn I was strong enough to give someone that started calling me Charlie Brown a nice big bloody nose and 2 black eyes. I never heard said to my face again. :D

We had a guy in school whose name really was Charlie Brown. But he was a 175 pound wrestler who went to state championships, so nobody ever – ever – made fun of him.

In “A Charlie Brown Christmas”, Lucy says “Look, Charlie, we all know Christmas is just a big commercial racket.” That’s about the only time I know of that she didn’t use his full name.

It must be a Charlie/Charles thing … in “A Wrinkle In Time” it was always Charles Wallace, never just Charles, Charlie or Chuck.

In a chow line, lunch is always awful with food made with VOMITROCIOUS bugs or something like that.

Awwwwww. That’s one of the worst things about Camp.

My name is Mary Moore and there are some people that ALWAYS call me by my full name. I think it just rolls off the tongue that way!

I was teased because of my first name all through school. I was called by an eccentric lady comedian with the same name. It hurt. But I had to live with it. I still wish I could change my name to something more modern.

In an episode of the UK show “24 Hours In The ER”, a patient named Charlie Brown was brought into the hospital. When his name was called in the ER, another person remarked “Charlie Brown? That can’t be someone’s real name”.

Charlie Brown is basically Charles Schulz as a kid. The physical resemblance is pretty strong, as are the angst and the odd mixture of contempt and respect the other kids show him. He probably always called him Charlie Brown in the strip to distinguish himself from the character.

And I’ve known about five guys named Charles Brown, all of whom were called Charlie Brown all the time, with no hint of irony.

Too bad this arc isn’t the one that became the basis of one of the movies. There was a movie about whole gang going to camp, and Charlie Brown has to rise to being a leader for them to beat a gang of cheating bullies in a boat race. I won’t spoil the end and tell you who won, you’ll have to watch the movie to find out.

Why are they wearing white hats?

At least, his name is not Charlie Bucket. Charlie is a cool name, and at least Brown is much better than Bucket.
