A missing musician? Is this tied to the return of the Mumbles Quartet?Sigh. Just have to wait and see.

If it’s not Mumbles then who else is musical in this strip? 88 Keyes is very dead but then again so was B.B. Eyes.

Perhaps we will learn more about “the stiff”.

I loved seeing Mumbles again in 79 but not as much as Haf n Haf and thought he was underplayed, too much Dr Zygote (though cloning is getting real-er every day). Looking forward to seeing what the capable team can do with the latest return of Mumbles. I’d say I wouldn’t mind seeing Mumbles get 86’d, but that has not stopped him before.

Damn you, Staton and Curtis, for tugging at my heartstrings like this!

Note the record album on the floor in the third panel, record halfway poking out of the sleeve. Nobody is that sloppy with their LP collection. I suspect that the owner left that room in an awful hurry – maybe not voluntarily.

This scene strikes me as being very reminiscent of another famous Tracy pooch…Mugg, who served as an introduction to the Pearshape storyline.

My first thought was that it’s the house of Davey and his mom from last week but the furnishings don’t seem like a match. Guess we’ll have to wait for more klews!

The details of panel 3 suggest that something very bad has happened here (wherever “here” is). I thought it might be Davey Mylar’s basement lair, too, but probably not.

Coming on the heels of the story of a beagle found in a trash bag in the garbage this week today’s strip kinda hurts.Let’s hope that the pooch’s howling brings help and another challenge for Dick Tracy.

Perhaps the pup’s owner was the food for Mr Crime’s plant earlier this week.

A DOG ! ?Inclusion of a Family pet. Nearly a first within the past 35 - years ?Gould used them frequently, particularly dogs, birds, and monkeys - often with a bizzare twist. To a point where they even had a small Police Zoo.To be fair, Collins did have in Masterson’s dog, Kilian Bill Bailey’s cat !Locher hadn’t anything in, ’ domestic ’, other than Tess, who was around for almost every story in the final 18 monthsThat variety of visuals seemed to largely go out, along with the Aircars. in 1978.Different strokes for different folks ?

The Pup is whining over an empty food bowl cause it’s hungry, and if that’s the case that baby probably needs to go potty as well.

Trivia: According to the 6-30-69 strip, who did Gould consider the VILEST crooks? Dognappers.

Didn’t the Plenty’s use to own a spaniel or something that would howl dismally whenever B.O. went missing? Dog’s name was “Hey You” or something like that.

I suspect the dogs caretaker has “clocked out?”

Never thought I’d say this, but I do not like today’s strip. Still, I know this is gonna lead to something good, but not today.

Johnny Adonis is mentioned tomorrow but not shown and all will be clearer.

Hmm… First time I saw a brown West Highland Terrier. Must have a bit of Cairn mixed in, or maybe the GoComics colorist doesn’t know about dogs.

Reminds me of Mugg a bit, from the original Pear Shape story arc. Something tells me that Honeymoon might be getting a Mugg Jr. soon.
