    “In the dawn of civilization I recall,

    My cave had bearskin carpets wall to wall;

    We were quite the social group; I was friends with Alley Oop

    And a charming fellow named Neanderthal!"

    — from the NCM version of “I Was Born 100,000 Years Ago.”

    I thought it was because of how the original Moon Maid got behind the wheel of a car, turned the ignition key and went KABLOOEY!!

    Ponytails are considered braids now? Back in my day (circa 70s), it was pigtails that were synonymous with braids.

    But seriously, I’m not disputing that this is indeed Bonnie Braids. I’m just musing on whatever became of my niec — er, I mean, Binnie Viller.

    (Fodder for a future storyline, if I may dare to dream?)

    So this is confirmed to be Bonnie Braids? Makes sense, since she’s being called “Miss Tracy” here.However, I find myself wondering — whatever happened to Binnie Viller? Dick Tracy promised the dying Stooge Viller that he would take care of his daughter, Binnie. After that storyline ended, we never heard about Binnie ever again…

    Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah, one and all!

    Hmmm … a “Thanks” or something to Unca Walt Kelly might have been apropos in the last panel, since he’s the one who composed that little ditty.

    Well, that was totally expected. And the obvious suspect is Selfie. Personally, I think it would be a marvelous plot twist if Mysta really did lose her temper and do this to Bellowthon. Of course, she would later be acquitted because her plea would be “no jury would ever convict me…”

    I have my own theory concerning the character of Cheater Gunsmoke from “The Dick Tracy Show”:He was the only “made for the show” villain to appear in the cartoon series. Though Chester Gould did not create him, there is some speculation as to whether Cheater was actually supposed to have been an animated caricature of Gould, his true identity (in the cartoon) forever hidden by a cloud of cigar smoke.Note that they had the same initials (C.G.) and that “Cheater” and “Chester” are but a single letter apart from each other. Also, Gould was originally from Oklahoma, which is close enough to Texas to make Gunsmoke’s cartoon accent an appropriate one.Of course, the ‘Chester Goode was Marshal Matt Dillon’s sidekick on “Gunsmoke.”’ is a good theory as well. But I do like the idea that maybe, just maybe, the character was a nod to the original creator of Dick Tracy.

    Actually, I was thinking that someone (not Tess, silly) had spiked Tracy’s drink with the liquid form of Goof Gas. (Fearless Fosdick would be immune to the stuff, as was Bullwinkle J. Moose.)
