He’s been programmed so that any time he tries to cuss, the words come out bowdlerized. (So “gorilla-watcher” probably would have been “m——f——-er” in his head.)

Sometimes you can tell what he was trying to say, but this time it looks like he’s on such a cussing streak that it’s just gibberish coming out.

Most guys really CAN’T swear any more than they can use the language any other way…I think Z can. It’s just that as part of his rise in the world of transport he’s been robbed of his ability to speak swear-words and I keep wondering if one day the prissy Frankensteins who made him thus will need him to fly a certain way and found they had extirpated THAT, too…

I can only do what I want to an annoying person once…so I usually keep my mouth shut about that. I did get pretty thorough in my study of profanity, tho, for a while.

In some of the simpler cases, it appears that the substituted words start with the same letter as the intended swear-words. I guess I don’t think in swear-words because I can’t figure out a lot of Nick’s intended foul language.

I definitely like Nick better since he lost the ability to swear conventionally.

Yes, I can forsee problems if he has to tell someone that he had to fly to Scunthorpe in England, for example, or if he has to warn about an attempted assassination.

When censorship becomes glossolalia. Reminds me of the creative editing of Snakes on a Plane and The Big Lebowski. “See what happens, Danny, when you FIND A STRANGER IN THE ALPS?!!”
