Red, you can play squirrel patrol with Rover…that’s a good way to combine puppy play time with eradication of the squirrelly menace to society!

Give it a rest, Rover. You’ve been working too hard.

Actually, with the pillow decoy in the window, to keep their attention, Rover can NOW circle around from the back of the house and catch them by surprise!

Our friendly neighborhood bushy tailed tree rat (aka Squirrlzilla)had the dog’s number, knew just how far the chain went and always stayed a couple of feet beyond it. Drove the dog nuts.

My mothers dog and the local fox squirrel who raised a litter in a tree in her yard every year liked to play. The squirrel would come down the tree just out of the dogs reach and she would bark madly at her; at other times the squirrel would walk calmly across the yard and the dog would pay no attention to her. My current Mini Dax stares out the door to the deck watching the squirrels on the feeders; when I open the door she rushes after them; about half the time in the wrong direction.

Our Dachshund brought the first three to the back door, the last two were afternoon snacks.

Very good, Red. One might even call it something of a beau jest.
