But the Cons don’t want us to have affordable Health Insurance. They would rather have the taxpayers pay for it through Emergency Room services. And in 2000, if they had certified the final count in the manner that the Democrats had specified then Bush would have won (the Republican specifications would have resulted in a Gore victory). As it is, the Supreme Court stepped in and appointed Bush as President. Not Their Job!
The “Butterfly Ballot President” took us from a surplus to a record deficit with two stupid unfunded wars and we will be paying for it the rest of our lives.
Harley, you’ve never shopped for individual insurance, have you. What you call “government” health insurance, which is really private insurance chosen on a fair exchange, would be HUGELY less expensive. Get a clue. Why do you think the GOP opposes health insurance exchanges? Because the free market is bad for businessmen.
If the ignorant woman with the sign doesn’t want her health care services “stolen,” then she needs to picket the White House, because that’s what Obamacare does. It’s not going to be HER’S anymore, once it is in the hands of the bureaucracy. By the time Obama’s “health care system” is fully implemented, the only people getting services will be those who can actually pay for it. The rest of us will be in the hands of a board who’ll decide what will be done with you. If you want to be a faceless number, support your government’s absconding your health services.
Why do all of the so-called Conservatives want to blame the Government for funneling more business to private companies?Isn’t that what unfettered Capitalism is all about? You have a choice as to which PRIVATE INSURER you can buy insurance from. CAPITALISM!!They invalidated any mention of any God-Forbidden NON-PROFIT insurance program that that might have kept some of the funds paid into it by the insured for ACTUAL HEALTH CARE. No all that money has to go to the rightful owners of all the wealth of this GREAT NATION!! Wall Street. “Greed is good.”
This issue has Republicans playing Russian roulette with a semi-auto pistol, with a full chamber and magazine. They built it, they sold it, they bought it, and now they’re calling it a “lemon” when it guarantees profits to their constituents, the corporations.
RV, thanks for the numbers that DO prove my “single payer” (FEHB) program is many times “cheaper”, and better, than totally “privatized” health insurance. I too am very distressed that Obama and the DEMOCRATS caved on not providing “single payer”, as they originally intended, but knew they couldn’t get past a REPUBLICAN filibuster.
RV, yes, agree, note I said Obama AND the Democrats caved. Just think, we might have all been better off had the Republicans not pitched “hissy fits” back when Clinton tried a valid approach, and they refused to cooperate, or think FOR the people, instead of the “party” and it’s contributors.

People ARE paying for it. Had Obama got what he really wanted, it would cost LESS.
