Aww…still, someone needs to tell him that his over the top quirks make people uncomfortable. It might not be fair, but it’s the truth, and then maybe he could do something about it.

Tell us again how hot and drunk she was. Don’t gloss over the details.

Donna should not feel the least bit of guilt over this. There are enough predatory opportunists out there that nothing can be taken for granted. She’s just trying to protect a friend who’s taken self destruction to new heights. If Michael thinks he’s being treated harshly, well that’s just too bad. It was his own conduct that brought this on.

If Michael plays this right, I’ll bet he can get Donna to go out with him.

I wanna see Tina hook up (happily) with Michael, just to freak out everybody’s expectations. We know little enough about Tina that it would be easy to give her interests that mesh with his, and from her hang-up on Miles there’s a precedent for her having “unconventional” taste in men. Besides, Michael would be the last guy in the world to hold her time in the psych ward against her.

Much as I dislike the net tendency toward flaming, after a few weeks of reading through the comments here along with the comics, I have to say I agree with fritzoiod. Peabody-Martini, you seem to be a downer with much baggage. Perhaps the medium of comics, involving humor, is not one that suits your apparent tendency to take things much, much too seriously.

Wow, if this is not biggest example of fail and suck that I’ve seen in a very long time. Perfect troll behavior. Fritzoid has made a complete and utter fool of himself, threadjacked this comments page for an entire day. This is just plain stupid and pathetic. All because he disagreed with a total strangers opinion, a stranger who could care less what he thinks. He even goes so so far as speaking for the creator of the strip, talk about being presumptuous.

No, I simply have reading-comprehension skill that you seem to lack. You have been using your own prejudices to inform us all what you think the characters SHOULD have done. I’m commenting on the way Ms. Babcock has actually portrayed them. Michael has done nothing for which he should be censured. Donna’s assumption of HIS guilt is baseless, and HER guilt here is appropriate.

The character of Michael and everyone’s reaction to him is an interesting study in human preconceptions. He seems to engender a negative reaction from most of the readers, Peabody-Martini in particular, and for what exactly? He comes from an area that’s “odd” (Utah). He has strange features (his ears). Poor social skills and odd mannerisms.Nothing that the rest of our cast of characters couldn’t be called innocent of. Monica is from France (gasp!). Pierre is a cad. Lukas has a great set of ears himself. They all have their peculiar idiosyncrasies. So, what’s the difference? Why did some readers rush to judgement on this character and were all but ready to condemn him to a crime he didn’t commit? Only they can answer that and a few a still recalcitrant about their early statements. I hope to God they never have to serve on a jury.
